Whereas, the Medical Council of India intended to conduct National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Post Graduate Medical Degree vide Notification No. MCI-31(1)/2010/Med/62051 dtd. 15.02.2012 and in No. MCI-18(1)/2010-Med./62052 dtd. 15.02.2012;

Whereas, the Karnataka Private Medical and Dental Colleges Association (KPM&DCA) has obtained an interim order by which the said Notifications have been stayed by the Hon’ble High Court of Karnataka, Bangalore in W.P. No. 12417-12419/2012 dtd. 04th May 2012;

Whereas, the fact of stay and its consequences have been informed to MCI in a communication dtd. 07.07.2012 clearly indicating to MCI not to proceed to the conduct of the said examinations in so far as our member institutions comprising of 12 Medical and 25 Dental colleges are concerned;
Whereas, the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India, while transferring the above Writ Petition filed by the Medical Council of India in TP (C) No. 302/2012 dated 12.10.2012 , was pleased to continue the interim orders which have already been passed by the Hon’ble High Court;

Whereas, the KPM&DCA have entrusted COMEDK with the responsibility of conducting an Entrance Test 2013 to Post Graduate courses in Medical and Dental stream in Karnataka for their member institutions;

Now, therefore, the Entrance Test for Post Graduate courses in Medical and Dental streams in respect of Member Institutions for effecting admissions in the academic year 2013 would be held on the 03rd February 2013, the Sunday (*).

The Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA), Bangalore has announced the exam dates for theDiploma – Common Entrance Test (Diploma-CET) 2012 which will be held in the month of August 2012. The KEA Diploma-CET 2012 will be held on Sunday, August 19, 2012.

The KEA Diploma-CET 2012 is conducted for taking admission of Karnataka candidates to the second year or third semester of full time Engineering  (B.E) courses and first year Architecture (B.Arch) courses under lateral entry scheme in government / university / private aided / private un-aided professional educational institutions in the state of Karnataka for the commencing session 2012-13.

Eligibility Criteria for KEA Diploma-CET 2012:

• For B.E Courses: The candidate should have passed any diploma examination or equivalent examination and obtained an aggregate minimum of 45% marks taken together in all the subjects of the final year (Fifth and sixth semester) diploma Examination (Q.E).
• For B.Arch Course: The candidate should have passed any diploma examination or equivalent examination and obtained an aggregate minimum of 50% marks taken together in all the subjects of the final year (Fifth and sixth semester) diploma Examination (Q.E).

Tamil Nadu Common Admissions (TANCA) 2012 is administered by Anna University, Chennai on behalf of the Government of Tamil Nadu.



Applications are invited for Admissions to M.E. / M.Tech. / M.Arch. / M.Plan. Degree Programmes offered in the University Departments / University Colleges, Government, Government Aided Engineering Colleges, and Self Financing Engineering Colleges in Tamil Nadu for the seats surrendered for admission through single window (TANCA 2012) counselling.

APPLICATION FORM

Candidates should submit separate application for each category as given below.

1. GATE Category

a. GATE (Engineering / Technology) category: Candidates who have a valid GATE 2012 score with qualifying marks for assistantship in the appropriate discipline of Engineering / Technology.

b. GATE (Engineering Science (XE) / Life Science (XL) category: Candidates who have a valid GATE 2012 score with qualifying marks for assistantship in Engineering Science (XE) and Life Science (XL) papers. Candidates should have also appeared for TANCET 2012 conducted by Anna University.

2. Non-GATE category: (TANCET 2012 score only) Candidates who have appeared for TANCET 2012.

3. Sponsored category: (with TANCET 2012 score) Admission only for University Departments of Anna University, Chennai-25.



ELIGIBILITY

Candidates who have passed all the subjects in the recognised Bachelor’s degree or equivalent and obtained atleast 50 % ( 45 % in the case of candidates belonging to reserved category) in the qualifying degree examination.

i. with TANCET 2012 score (or)

ii. with valid GATE 2012 score with qualifying marks prescribed for assistantship in the appropriate discipline of Engineering / Technology (or)

iii. with valid GATE 2012 score with qualifying marks prescribed for assistantship in Engineering Science (XE) and Life Science (XL) papers along with TANCET 2012 score

shall be considered for admission to M.E./M.Tech./M.Arch./M.Plan. degree programmes.



Application forms can be obtained in the following modes:

IN PERSON: Application form can be obtained IN PERSON by Cash / Demand Draft for ` 500/- for General (` 250/- for SC/SCA/ST candidates belonging to Tamil Nadu on production of a copy of Permanent Community Certificate card) towards registration fee



BY POST: Application form can also be obtained by post by sending a Demand Draft for ` 600/- for general (` 350/- for SC/SCA/ST candidates belonging to Tamil Nadu by enclosing a copy of Permanent Community Certificate card), (includes postal charges) along with a requisition letter and an address slip written in capital letters from the Secretary, TANCA, Anna university, Chennai - 600 025.
